In Turda, Roma families have no other place to live but on the former site of a chemicals factory that is contaminated with mercury [1] [3]. This is according to a recent article published by the University of Yale "Mercury, insecticides and other chemicals infiltrate the soil among the factory ruins, threatening public health and groundwater".  [2]
